The Greater Los Angeles Morehouse Alumni Association was established in 1992 and founded on the principals of alumni engagement, mentoring, and student scholarships.

GLAMAA is a duly registered 501(c)(3) non-profit organization. The specific purpose of this corporation is to support and advance the interest of Morehouse College of Atlanta, Georgia and its alumni, to foster interest among prospective students, and to interpret Morehouse College to the Greater Los Angeles community.

Los Angeles is home to one of the largest populations of Morehouse College alumni outside of the Atlanta area. Our membership comprises accomplished professionals across various fields who remain engaged with their institution and contribute to local communities while advancing Morehouse's mission.

Our History

A Legacy of
Service & Brotherhood

The Greater Los Angeles Morehouse Alumni Association has operated for over 30 years, originally known as the Los Angeles Morehouse Club. Established in 1992, GLAMAA has grown into one of the most active Morehouse alumni chapters in the country.

Our organization is a public-benefit nonprofit entity dedicated to supporting and advancing Morehouse College's interests and its alumni in Greater Los Angeles — fostering interest among prospective students, providing scholarships and financial aid, and mentoring existing students from the Greater Los Angeles area.

Morehouse College has served for more than 150 years fulfilling its mission to develop academically superior, morally conscious leaders. GLAMAA carries that mission forward in Southern California.

Each year, GLAMAA awards scholarships to deserving Morehouse students with ties to the Los Angeles community who demonstrate academic excellence, leadership, and a commitment to service.

Our scholarship recipients represent the very best of the Morehouse tradition — young men of purpose who are committed to making a difference in their communities and beyond.

Scholarship funds are raised through annual dues, lifetime memberships, individual donations, corporate matching gifts, and signature fundraising events throughout the year.
